This is how it looks on an 85â. At first I thought it wasnât loud enough but downloaded the app and personalized the equalizer. It sounds great after. Itâs not overbearing loud with bass but just subtle enough to enjoy in a living room, and not disturb the rest of the house.

Note that we also own a lower tier model of the same Vizio line of surround sound speakers. That set has a much smaller sound bar, with no rotating speakers, smaller surround sound speakers which are ONLY front facing (this product has surround sound speakers that are bottom, front, and up facing), and the subwoofer is only 1/3 the size. We use that set in our loft which is a smaller space better suited to a lower tier model of the Vizio surround sound lineup.This is the set you want for large spaces like a living room. Absolutely AMAZING sound quality in a large space. The surround sound speakers can be set from a volume level of -10 to +10 and start at 0. We turned them up to a +5 and they are borderline too loud. We might turn down to a 3 or 4. Iâm saying this to let you know that the surround sound speakers can get incredibly LOUD if you want them too. Far louder than you probably want. They provide amazing sound quality and the surround sound really makes the audio of anything youâre watching âpopâ.We put the subwoofer on the floor directly behind the sofa, touching the sofa. WOW! You can FEEL the movies/shows youâre watching! The rumble effects with it up against the sofa are incredible. Itâs like having force-feedback in a joystick which rumbles any time you take damage in a flight simulator.The surround sound speakers must be wired to the subwoofer. The subwoofer itself (with surround sound attached) is wirelessly connected via Bluetooth (automatically, no user input needed) to the soundbar. Yes, itâs a little annoying that the rear subwoofer and speakers must be wired, but frankly youâd probably have way too much latency and sound lag if everything was wireless. Thatâs probably why they didnât make everything wireless â because the sound quality would be terrible.We do have cats (rather, 1 cat) that loves eating electrical cords. We ran the cord to the subwoofer under a cord keeper floor cover (that was $10) and then used electrical cable protective covers (from harbor freight – $3 for 10 feet) to cover the exposed sections of the surround sound speaker cables and now everything is perfectly protected for $13ish.The software is AMAZING! We had a huge problem with the loud sounds being too loud and soft sounds being too soft and were constantly adjusting volume. The app has a âsound volume smoothingâ setting which, while not completely perfect, fixed about 85% of this problem. I donât own any other TV or sound system with a setting like this and itâs incredible! Especially when youâre married and one partner goes to bed hours before the other due to a completely different work schedule. It helps to keep the sound balanced and at a lower setting so you donât wake up your wife/husband/partner.Overall, this is a solid 5/5 from me! Weâve been using this daily for about 1 to 1.5 months now and have had ZERO issues. ZERO complaints. This is a rocking product and the best surround sound Iâve ever heard inside a home theater! Yes, itâs expensive, I know, but for the absolute best in home theater surround sound there is simply no better option in this price range. Highly recommend trying this out!P.S. – the rotating speakers on the sides of the front sound bar do rotate up at times to help fill the space with sound. I’m not entirely sure what triggers them to rotate but to tell the truth I also haven’t read the manual about them or tried to learn more about them. You can also manually adjust their rotation if you want. You can pretty much manually adjust anything imaginable through the app.

Great for family rooms, useful app but Atmos was questionable
I am not an audiophile by any means, but have had a few surround systems in the past, including a whole house audio set up. If I could rate this system 4.5 stars, I would.The good:* Set up for the system was incredibly straight forward. I had it out of the box and watching TV in less than and hour.* Instructions were pretty straight forward and helpful* The app is useful and necessary. It allows you to equalize the audio to your tastes and includes my favorite feature – Clear dialog. You can actually hear voices along with explosions and music.* Center speaker adjustability. In the app, you can adjust the aiming of the center channel to your ear height when seating on a couch. This made a big difference for me* Atmos ability – more on that later.*Overall sound quality was better than expected* No need to run a bunch of wire since the Subwoofer is wireless and controls/powers the rear speakers*eArc Hdmi- it works when I power on my non Vizio TVWhat could be improved -* For the price, I’m having a hard time to find many faults with the system. It is perfect for a small living room or family room.*Atmos – The function of the Atmos system is not what I was expecting. It works fine, but I was hoping for more. For the price of the unit, I was surprised to see it at all.Overall sound quality is incredible. I have it set up in a small family room (probably 20′ x 20′) and it is the perfect size for that room. It fills the room with audio, but does not overwhelm the room with audio if that makes sense. The base is nice and controlled, adding depth to the listening experience, but I don’t have to worry about waking the neighbors if I’m watching Saving Private Ryan for example. I can watch a movie with really good audio, while my kids are asleep. It is a great audio solution for me.Overall I am thrilled with this set up. It is not as good as a dedicated set up, but for the price, it is incredible especially since I don’t have to open up the walls and run audio cables. This is a great plug in, wireless 5.1 set up that is perfect for a average sized family room.
